Welcome to the National Association of Certified Document Preparers. An association where you will find a Nationally Certified Document Preparer from every State.
Our missing is to provide an opportunity for individuals to become a document preparer as well as create an environment for self representation of all ligitgants to become more knowledgeable in services through document preparation.
We offer you the opportunity to become a Certified Document Preparer through our online training and examination process, as well as the continuing education to renew your membership annually. If you are already a document preparer, you can become a national member and be recognized as a National Certified Document Preparer.
A Document Preparer is a qualified person who is able to assist in retrieving, preparing, presenting and permanently storing all relevant documents for self representation.
A Document Preparer is not a lawyer or a paralegal and is unable to offer legal advice. All Certified Document Preparers must make it clear to any consumer that they are not a lawyer and cannot give legal advice. Although, according to the Code that governs CLDPs, a Certified Document Preparer can give a customer “general factual information pertaining to legal rights, procedures, or options available.”
